IFA 2013: Video overviews of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Gear

Samsung Galaxy Note 3Samsung yesterday announced its latest flagship phablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. We focused a lot on the hardware side with our initial post covering the improved specifications and the new faux stitched leather look. But despite having a larger display and a faster processor, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 shares much in common with the older Galaxy Note II.

On the software side, Samsung has once again enhanced the software with new and improved apps. They emphasized the improvements made to the S Pen technology. For example, Air Command puts a number of commands to your disposal in a fan-like menu when you hover over the screen and click on the S Pen button. They also enhanced the Multi Window feature to allow the same app to be open in two different windows (useful for simultaneous chats for example) and even making it easy to share content between applications. On the new app side, they introduced My Magazine which offers personalized content and social media in a magazine-like format.

To go over all of these features, new accessories and more, Samsung has put together a six minute overview video of the Galaxy Note 3. It’s definitely worth your while if you are are considering it as your next device or simply curious about what Samsung cooked up for its latest flagship device.

The Galaxy Note 3 is coming to Canada through a number of carriers and to the U.S. with  AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and U.S. Cellular.

Update: Samsung has also released a much longer 18 minute video that looks at both the Galaxy Note and its companion device, the Galaxy Gear smartwatch. Samsung has conveniently also provided an index in the description to allow you to skip to the specific sections that you may be more interested in.
