Alongside its new Android devices, ASUS today unveiled a new convertible Windows 8 tablet, the Transformer Book T300. Much as we have seen from the Transformer Pad series, the Transformer Book is essentially a tablet that can be turned into a laptop with an optional keyboard dock or as ASUS bills it, a laptop that can be used as a standalone tablet.

The keyboard dock adds 11 millimeters of thickness to the tablet. It comes with a magnetic dock connector that releases and snaps to the tablet display in an instant. It also comes with a full-size keyboard with backlit keys and multi-touch touchpad.
