LG Vu 3 with stylus support announced for Korea

LG Vu 3

As rumours predicted, LG has unveiled the LG Vu 3, the successor to last year’s Optimus Vu II. Like its predecessors, it sports a display with a 4:3 aspect ratio. It adds a “rubber rhodium” stylus and a number of digital pen-friendly apps.

In terms of specifications, the LG Vu 3 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor Google Android. It will come with LTE-A connectivity, a 5.2-inch HD+ (1280×960) IPS display, a 13MP rear-facing camera and the aforementioned stylus for input. It will be available in black, white and turquoise.

It will also offer a number of features first introduced on the LG G2. These include Knock On to activate the phone by tapping its display, a Guest Mode and more.

As with the G2, LG will offer a QuickView case for the Vu 3. In this case, it will be semi-transparent rather than featuring a window. Animated notifications for time, date, message notifications will be visible through the case without having to open it.

The LG Vu 3 will launch in Korea on September 27th with the country’s three major carriers. It remains to be seen if and when it will launch in other markets, including North America.
