Sony is expected to unveil the Sony Xperia i1, codenamed Honami, as its next flagship smartphone. A new round of images has emerged, showing a device that shares much with the Xperia Z. These latest images also line up relatively well with earlier images although there are some differences.
One picture reveals a large speaker that covers most of the bottom of the device. An image of the back shows the camera in the top left corner but lacks the Xenon flash seen in a previous image.
The source of these latest images did not have much information in terms of specifications. They could not even confirm that the Sony Honami will come with a 20MP camera, indicating only the camera’s software had not been finalized.
Previous reports have suggested that the Sony Xperia i1 would come with a 2.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, LTE connectivity, a 5-inch FHD (1080×1920) Triluminos display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of onboard storage and a 20.7MP camera with Exmor RS sensor and Sony G-lens. It would also be dustproof and waterproof like the Xperia Z and Xperia Z Ultra.
Sony is expected to unveil the Xperia i1 at its event set for September 4th at IFA 2013.
