Samsung is widely expected to unveil both its Galaxy Note III and Galaxy Gear smartwatch at next month’s Unpacked 2013 Episode 2 event on September 4th. While specification details have leaked about both devices, shipment dates have remained more of a mystery until now. SamMobile today reports that a source has given it potential shipping dates.
According to the report, the Galaxy Note III will begin shipping on week 36. That suggests an early September start to shipments, possibly as early as the same day as the announcement. The Galaxy Gear is set to follow on week 40 (very late September or early October). Needless to say, those dates may vary somewhat by market and by carrier as we have seen in the past.
The report adds that Samsung has dropped the 16GB Galaxy Note III model. It will still offer the 32GB and 64GB models although not all markets may see the latter.
We can expect the North American variant of the Galaxy Note III to be powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Samsung Exynos 5420 processor and Google Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. It will also come with a 5.68 inch Full HD (1920×1080) Super AMOLED display, LTE connectivity, a 13MP rear camera with OIS and a 3,200mAh battery. Despite its larger display, it is also expected to be about the same size as the Galaxy Note II.
