Popular transportation app Uber is getting into the ice cream business but only for one day. If you happen to live in one of 33 designated cities, you will be able to call upon Uber to bring you an ice cream on Friday, July 19th between 1100 and 1700.
It cannot get easier than this:
- Download the Uber app for iPhone or Android
- Request the “Ice Cream” option via your app
- If a truck is available, you and your friends will be enjoying sweet treats and Uber swag within minutes
Be prepared to try several times to find an available truck. Uber expects demand to be high and supply to be fairly limited so be patient. Ice creams will be charged directly to your Uber account.
In Canada, only Toronto is lucky enough to be among the cities that will participate. The Uber ice cream truck here will be serving Mrs. Softy ice cream for CA$25 for five people.
The Uber ice cream truck will also be operating in a number of U.S. cities including Boston, Chicago, New York and San Francisco, as well as international cities such as Melbourne and Sydney in Australia, Paris and Lyon in France and Berlin and Munich in Germany.
