Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus go on sale today (Updated)

Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 PlusThe usual lineups had begun some time back in preparation for today, the day that the Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus go on sale. As we saw when pre-orders began last week, Apple will offer unlocked and contract-free devices on its website. Canadian pricing at Apple Stores and the Apple online store is as follows:

  • Apple iPhone 6:
    • 16GB: CA$749
    • 64GB: CA$859
    • 128GB: CA$969
  • Apple iPhone 6 Plus:
    • 16GB: CA$859
    • 64GB: CA$969
    • 128GB: CA$1,079

Canadian carriers are also now taking orders. Here is the list of carriers that will offer one or both new iPhones:

WIND Mobile will not carry the iPhone 6 models but invited anyone picking one up to bring it (or any other compatible iPhone) to activate a new line and “receive a little SIMthing to get you started…”

Thanks to those who reminded us that the iPhone 6 can also be picked up through national retailers such as Best Buy, Future Shop and The Source.

Judging by how quickly availability for the larger iPhone 6 Plus moved to several weeks on the first day of pre-orders, it is likely that it will quickly sell out today as well. Apple did warn that “customers are encouraged to arrive early” when it announced that it had taken 4 million pre-orders in the first 24 hours alone.

We’ll update the list as additional information becomes available.
