BlackBerry will officially launch the BlackBerry Classic on December 17 at an event in New York City. The event will kick off at 1000 ET (0700 PT). If BlackBerry somehow forgot to invite you to the launch, you will still be able to catch it all in real time as BlackBerry will livestream the event.
While BlackBerry has yet to reveal everything about the BlackBerry Classic, it is already available for pre-order on its ShopBlackBerry website for CA$499 (US$449). Powered by BlackBerry OS 10.3.1, it will support both LTE ((FD-LTE bands 1, 2/25, 4, 5, 7, 13, 17)) and HSPA+ (HSPA bands 1,2,4,5/6) connectivity. It will come with a 3.5-inch display and a physical QWERTY keyboard. And above that keyboar will be the iconic BlackBerry button belt with ‘Menu,’ ‘Back,’ ‘Send’ and ‘End’ buttons as well as the trackpad.
Among the Canadian carriers expected to carry the BlackBerry Classic are Bell Mobility, Rogers Wireless, SaskTel and Virgin Mobile. Contract pricing has not been announced but you can expect carriers to reveal those details shortly after BlackBerry unveils the BlackBerry Classic.
