After teasing the world for weeks, it appears that Geeksphone is finally about ready to put its latest smartphone up for sale. According to CNET, the Intel-based Revolution will go on sale on February 20 through Geekphone’s own website.

The Geeksphone Revolution will support both Android and a “Boot2Gecko by Mozilla” option. The latter is better known as Firefox OS but Geeksphone explains that “Firefox OS is a brand currently not available for independent manufacturers not associated with carriers,” leaving it to having to use the lesser known alternative name.

Here is a reminder of the specifications:

  • Display: 4.7-inch qHD (540×960) IPS
  • RAM: 1GB DDR2
  • Internal storage: 4GB
  • External storage: MicroSD cards
  • Rear-facing camera: 8MP with LED flash
  • Front-facing camera: 2MP
  • Battery: 2,000mAh
  • Dimensions: 135×68.4×9.8 millimeters
  • Colours: White with black front face

The Geeksphone Revolution will sell for normally sell for €239 but will be available for €222 for a limited time at launch. There is no word on whether the Geeksphone Revolution will make its way to North America at this point. The odds of it happening are certainly not very high, especially without LTE support.

With the Geeksphone Revolution launching just days before MWC 2014, the company also plans to announce a new model called “Blackphone” at the event.
