iOS 8 and OS X banners go up for WWDC

Confirmation of at least two of those came yesterday as crews prepared the Moscone Centre in San Francisco for the event. Banners for both iOS 8 and OS X went up, confirming two topics that Apple will cover.

The OS X banner has Yosemite, the codename for this latest release, in the background:

iOS 8 is expected to see an increased focus on health and fitness thanks to a new app called Healthbook. The app is expected to act as a logbook for information such as heart rate and blood pressure that will be collected by a range of Apple devices (including the oft-rumoured iWatch?). For its part, OS X could inherit some of the design elements introduced in iOS 7 last year.

Along with updates to its two operating systems, Apple is expected to make announcements about a new home automation service and updates to a variety of apps such as Maps and Siri. Less likely will be announcements for new iPhones and iPads as those are expected to happen in the fall. There could be some kind of Beats announcement but it’s likely to early for that as the deal was just announced and has yet to clear the necessary regulatory hurdles.

Here is one more iOS 8 banner picture for good measure:
