LG G Pro 2 to be unveiled at February 13 event?

Could LG unveil its LG G Pro 2 ahead of its expected MWC 2014 announcement? When LG confirmed that its next device would be called the LG G Pro 2, it also announced that it would be unveiled in February. Our assumption was that this was a reference to the upcoming Mobile World Congress event but it now appears that it will unveil it earlier. LG today sent out press invitations for an event set to take place on February 13 in Seoul, Korea.

The invitation comes with the tag line “Knock-knock knockin’ on,” a likely reference to LG’s Knock On feature that can wake a smartphone up with a double tap on the screen. It’s unlikely at this point that it would hold an event solely for this feature and a new hardware announcement is certainly not out of the realm of possibility.

In fact, LG did something similar with the LG Optimus G Pro. It unveiled it first in Korea and then again at MWC 2013.

Recent rumours have suggested that that LG G Pro 2 will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, Google Android 4.4 KitKat, a 6-inch Full HD (1080×1920) display (although other rumours have suggested a WQHD display), LTE-Advanced connectivity and 3GB of RAM. It could also come with a fingerprint scanner.
