LG webOS TV interface revealed

Rumoured LG webOS television

Don’t worry, we know that televisions are not mobile gadgets but this story can trace its roots back to mobile. When LG acquired webOS from HP in early 2013, it made it clear that it was going to use the operating system in televisions and that it was not about to resurface on smartphones and tablets. A recent report indicated that LG would unveil the first such television at CES 2014 but few details were provided. We now have our first glimpse at this television as well as its webOS interface courtesy of the usually reliable @evleaks.

The image confirms that the famed webOS card interface lives on albeit in a modified form along with a live preview of the currently running app. The image also suggests that apps such as YouTube, Facebook, Skype, and Twitter will be supported as will a browser.

As for the television itself, it is expected to come with a 2.2GHz dual-core ARM-based processor, 1.5GB of RAM and practically no bezels at all. You can expect it to launch in a number of display sizes and be LG’s new flagship television.

With CES 2014 taking place next week, it will not be long before all is revealed and confirmed.
