Rogers bringing Android 4.4 KitKat to range of older Samsung devices and Sony Xperia ZL

Rogers CommunicationsRogers just wrapped up a wave of device upgrades that saw quite a few devices get upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat as well as other operating systems. Among these were the LG G2, Sony Xperia Z1, Samsung Galaxy S4 and Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The carrier is now getting ready to bring Android 4.4 to a range of somewhat older devices. In the latest version of its OS Upgrades schedule, Android 4.4 updates are listed as “Coming Soon” for an additional seven devices.

The next round of devices set to get upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat by Rogers are:

  • Sony Xperia ZL
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 2
  • Samsung Galaxy Mega
  • Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini
  • Samsung Galaxy S III Mini
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0
  • Samsung Galaxy S III

The usual caveats once again apply. Rogers warns that “exact version may be different by device” and “release dates are subject to change.”

There is no word on exactly when these updates will begin to roll out. Keep it locked on EyeOnMobility as we’ll make sure to let you know as soon as they do start.
