Samsung said to unveil Gear Blink in March 2015

Rumoured Samsung Gear Glass conceptMonths before IFA 2014 even took place, rumours suggested that among the new products the company was getting ready was its own smartglasses.
Alternatively known as Gear Glass or Gear Blink, it failed to materialize at the event that saw Samsung unveil the Galaxy Note 4 and Gear VR headset. A new rumour citing “industry sources” now suggests that Samsung will instead unveil Gear Blink in March 2015 alongside the Galaxy S6 smartphone.

Very little about Gear Blink is still known at this point. Patent submissions indicate that it will be powered by Tizen like the majority of Samsung Gear smartwatches. It’s not even clear that it will look like the patent drawing above. Other images have it looking much more like Google Glass with a traditional glasses frame.

One new detail has come to light though. A trademark filed with Korean Intellectual Property Rights Information Service (KIPRIS) adds that it could also augmented reality to create a virtual keyboard that users could use to effectively type in thin air.

If the new launch window is legitimate, it is quite likely that a few rumours will pop up between now and then to give us a better sense of how Samsung Gear Blink will look and function.
