Samsung SM-T805 tablet revealed by UAProf

UAProf for Samsung SM-T805

Samsung looks set to have a busy year when it comes to tablets. Coming off record tablet shipments in 2013, Samsung wasted no time this year unveiling new models. The Samsung Galaxy NotePRO and Galaxy TabPRO are already available in a number of markets (including Canada) and the launch of the Galaxy Tab 4 family appears imminent as well. Yet another new tablet has now turned up. This one is only known by its model number, SM-T805, and its UAProf file which surfaced on Samsung’s own website.

The file reveals only a few details. The SM-T805 will come with a WQXGA (2560×1600) display and Google Android 4.4 KitKat (with Samsung Magazine UX interface presumably). Samsung’s Galaxy NotePRO and Galaxy TabPRO sport the same specifications.

The new model number itself falls just below that of the Galaxy NotePRO 12.2 (SM-T900). This suggests that it could well be another high-end tablet and possibly part of these new lines. Could it be a smaller version of the Galaxy NotePRO? Perhaps a 10.1-inch version?

SamMobile suggests that this new model could also come with curved sides to make it easier to hold the tablet. Samsung filed a patent for such a design recently. Such a tablet could look something like this:

There is no word yet on when Samsung could announce the SM-T805. It may not be much longer though as SamMobile reports that Samsung has finalized the hardware design and is now working on the device-related software.
