Samsung teases Galaxy K ahead of April 29 announcement

Samsung teaser for April 29, 2014 event

A day ahead of its April 29 “Kapture the moment” event, Samsung has posted a teaser image on Twitter. The image appears to show a closeup of an extended optical zoom lens. It gives credence to speculation that Samsung is about to announce the Samsung Galaxy K which has often been the topic of past rumours as the Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom.

Just days ago, another image of the alleged Samsung Galaxy K surfaced, showing the zoom fully extended. It appears to show the same dimpled back as the Galaxy S5. Interestingly, if you look at the bottom right corner of the new teaser image, it appears to show the faux-leather look first introduced with the Galaxy Note 3.

Rumoured Samsung Galaxy K

As you would expect from a teaser image, it reveals little else. Past rumours have suggested that the Samsung Galaxy K (or the Galaxy S5 Zoom if you prefer) will come with a hexa-core (2 × 1.7GHz + 4 × 1.3GHz) Samsung Exynos 5260 processor, Google Android 4.4.2 with TouchWiz, a 4.8-inch HD (720×1280) AMOLED display, 2GB of RAM, a 2.1MP front camera and a 20.1MP rear camera with OIS, Xenon flash and 10x optical zoom.

All should be revealed tomorrow.
