As widely rumoured, Samsung has unveiled a new smartphone line called Galaxy A. It consists so far of the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5. Billed as its “slimmest smartphone to date,” (along with the already available Galaxy Alpha) both sport metal unibody designs and “the most advanced functions to support social networking for young consumers.”
Both Galaxy A smartphones are designed to appeal to young consumers and offer a range of features like Wide Selfie, Palm Selfie, Rear Cam Selfie, and Beauty Face to allow them to “express their unique style while constantly staying connected.”
“The Galaxy A5 and A3 offer a beautifully crafted full metal unibody, slim design, superior hardware and the best possible social media experience,” said JK Shin, CEO and Head of IT & Mobile Communication at Samsung Electronics. “These devices make our advanced Galaxy experience even more accessible to young and trend conscious consumers.”

The Samsung Galaxy A5 and A3 will launch in select markets including China starting in November 2014. There is no word yet on whether we will see either smartphone in Canada. Pricing was not announced today.
Oddly missing from today’s announcement is the Samsung Galaxy A7. It will presumably be announced later.
