Final Samsung Gear S2 design revealed?

Samsung Gear S2Samsung will officially unveil the Gear S2 smartwatch at a September 3rd event during IFA 2015. It teased the upcoming announcement during Galaxy Unpacked 2015 earlier this month. The teaser video gave us a good look at the interface but was not as generous with the hardware side of things. Some promotional images later helped a bit.

A new picture has now emerged that gives us our best look yet at the side of the Gear S2. It was posted on Instragram by Dennis Miloseski who is none other than a vice president and Head of Studio at Samsung Design America. He is “giving the new Samsung Gear S2 a test drive.”

Once more, there is no sign of a traditional crown. Some rumours had hinted at a digital crown but it appears that Samsung may have opted for buttons on the side instead. These appear to be quite flush with the case

The image reconfirms that Samsung’s next smartwatch will be free of any black bar on its round display. It also gives us a good look at a new watch face that features a nice moonphase complication.

The Samsung Gear S2 will be powered by Tizen and will feature a rotating bezel ring to control certain actions. Rumoured specifications include a 1.2GHz dual-core Samsung Exynos 3472 processor, a 360 by 360 pixel circular display, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a 250mAh battery.

All will be revealed in just over a week.
