Google I/O 2015 set for May 28 and 29

Google I/O 2015Google today announced the dates for its eighth annual developer conference. Sundar Pichai once again took to Google+ to confirm that Google I/O 2015 will take place on May 28th and 29th. As it has done in past years, the event returns to the Moscone Center West conference center in San Francisco.

Google I/O is two days of inspirational talks, hands-on learning, and a chance to hear more about Google’s latest developer products.

Google has yet to release specific details about this year’s sessions and schedule but Pichai is likely to once again deliver the keynote. As for what could be on tap, a new version of Android is certainly one possibility. New hardware is another good bet. This year this could include the first Project Ara modular smartphones and a commercial version of Google Glass.

Last year’s keynote gave us our first glimpse at Android Lollipop, known then only as Android L, the introduction of Android One and a better look at Android Wear as well as the first Android Wear devices.

Registration for Google I/O 2015 will begin on March 17th at 0900 PT (1200 ET).

Those unable to attend the event in person will be able to catch the keynotes and a number of sessions online via I/O Live or at an I/O Extended event closer to home.
