LG readying new GizmoPal 2 and GizmoGadget wearables for kids

Rumoured LG GizmoPal 2 and GizmoGadgetSometimes retired leakster @evleaks yesterday revealed that LG is readying some new wearables. Headed to Verizon Wireless, these new devices have a particular audience in mind. Much like last year’s LG KizON, the LG GizmoPal 2 (in blue in the image above) and LG GizmoGadget (in red in the image above) are geared at parents looking to know where their children are at all times.

Little information is provided about both devices but the single image does give us a few details. A new design that looks more like a smartwatch and the addition of a display suggests that both may be geared at somewhat older children. In comparison, the original LG KizON did not have a display and was clearly geared at younger kids with its bright blue or pink colour options.

Like the KizON, both will support two-way communication. They will presumably also use real-time GPS tracking and Wi-Fi to provide parents real-time location information using an app on their smartphones. It’s not immediately clear how the two differ but one will presumably offer more functionality than the other.

No availability and pricing details have been announced but both are headed to Verizon Wireless. Judging by the date on the GizmoGadget, an official announcement could come on November 12th with a launch to follow in time for the holiday season.
