Misfit unveils US$20 Flash Link activity tracker and smart button

Misfit Flash LinkMisfit this week unveiled its latest addition to its growing line of wearables. Selling for US$19.99, the Misfit Flash Link is billed as “the lowest-priced multifunctional and modular wearable product on the market.” It is effectively the same as the Misfit Flash but replaces the sports band with a simple clip.

“We’re focused on making products everyone can use. Flash Link is not just a more affordable wearable, it’s a more powerful one,” said Tim Golnik, Misfit’s Vice President of Product and Design.

Misfit also unveiled its new Misfit Link app (currently only available for iOS but coming soon to Android). It lets any Misfit Flash become a remote control for a range of functions. For example, it will let you  take a selfie with your phone camera app or Snapchat; control your music (pause, play, skip songs, adjust the volume) with Spotify, Pandora, and more; or advance slides in a presentation. More functionality will be added later, including IFTTT and Logitech Harmony integrations.

The Misfit Flash Link is available in four colours: Frost, Onyx, Reef and Coca-Cola Red. It sells for US$19.99 (about CA$26). It will arrive in retail locations worldwide later this quarter.

Misfit also reduced the price of its Shine and Flash to US$69.99 (about CA$90) and US$29.99 (about CA$40), respectively.
