Samsung Gear A and Galaxy Note 5 coming sooner than expected?

Samsung Galaxy Note logoLast we heard, Samsung was planning to announce the Samsung Gear A smartwatch alongside the Galaxy Note 5 at IFA 2015 in early September. A new report now suggests that Samsung’s next flagship phablet could be announced sooner. If so, could we also see Samsung’s first round smartwatch sooner than expected?

Samsung has reportedly moved up its launch time table in order to have it available before Apple is expected to announce the next iPhone (the iPhone 6S?). WhoWired Korea reports that final specifications of the Galaxy Note 5 are now confirmed and the latest prototypes should be completed by mid-June. Global telecom companies, which have seen the prototype, will apparently be able to begin pre-orders at the end of July.

Another reason for the earlier launch could be the imminent launch of Samsung Pay. The new mobile payment service is expected to be offered in both the U.S. and South Korea in the second half of the year.

While the new report makes no mention of the Samsung Gear A, Samsung has traditionally announced its flagship products at its flashy Unpacked events. The next one could well feature its latest flagship smartwatch alongside its new flagship phablet and mobile payment service. Whether it happens in July or not remains to be seen though.
