Apple preparing mid-March press event for launch of multiple new products?

AppleThe rumours that Apple will hold its next major event in mid-March got another boost yesterday. Sources have told 9to5Mac that the company’s next event will introduce a number of new products that include some new Apple Watch models.

As reported earlier, Apple will unveil new variations on the current Apple Watch model rather than a redesigned one. The report indicates that new colours will be announced for both the rubber Sports and the Hermès bands. Bands made from a new material and a black version of the Milanese loop are also in the cards. An updated version of watchOS (likely the 2.2 version which is now in beta)  with a new map feature is also likely.

The Apple Watch will need to share the spotlight with some new devices. Apple is expected to announce a new iPad with a 9.7-inch screen (the iPad Air 3?) and a new new 4-inch Apple iPhone that could launch as the iPhone 5se. A new version of iOS would likely be announced in tandem with the new devices.

Apple is reportedly looking to hold its next event the week of March 14th. The date has yet to be confirmed though and could still change.

Apple yesterday announced its latest financial results. While it set record revenues and net income, signs suggest that the days of growing by leaps and bounds may be at an end. The new products will hopefully alleviate the fears that growth has hit a wall.
