The Laureus World Sports Awards has honoured the “most remarkable men and women from the world of sport along with their achievements from the previous calendar year” since being founded in 2000. IWC Schaffhausen has supported the cause since 2006 by releasing a special edition watch each year. The latest is the IWC Portofino Automatic Moon Phase 37 Edition “Laureus Sport for Good Foundation” (Reference IW459006).
“Our cooperation with Laureus forms one of the cornerstones of our commitment to social responsibility. The foundation, and its ambassadors from the world of professional sport, are tirelessly and passionately dedicated to improving society. I am proud that we have been able to support this important and necessary work for the tenth year running with a special edition”, summarizes Georges Kern, CEO of IWC Schaffhausen.
The IWC Portofino Automatic Moon Phase 37 Edition “Laureus Sport for Good Foundation” comes with a dial painted in the distinctive Laureus blue hue. Like other watches in the collection, a moon phase sub-dial is located at 12 o’clock. The hour indices are complemented by 12 diamonds. The watch is completed by a blue alligator leather strap from Santoni.
As in past year, the case back is engraved with the winning entry from last year’s IWC children’s drawing competition. This year’s drawing shows girls and boys playing together with a ball.
