Tissot Tour de France special collection

Tissot Tour de France 2016 collectionAhead of the 2016 Tour de France, Tissot, the event’s official timekeeper, this week unveiled a new collection of watches dedicated to the famed race. The Tissot Tour de France collection consists of six watches, promising that “there is a watch for everyone.”

The Tissot PR100 and PRC200 are geared at those “looking for a classic.” Those lookier for sportier watches will be able to choose from two Tissot T-Race models as well as the T-Race Touch. Completing the collection is the solar-powered Tissot T-Touch Expert Solar. Each model incorporates the Tour’s distinctive yellow colour associated with the Maillot Jaune worn by the leader. The official logo is also engraved on each watch’s caseback.

The dials of all six Tissot Tour de France watches feature a splash of yellow. The PR100, PRC200 and Tissot T-Race all sport yellow second hands. The yellow is far more subtle on the T-Touch Expert Solar with only a yellow outline on one hand. The T-Race Touch foregoes the yellow hands completely in favour of yellow cardinal numbers and a yellow-hued case. A number of watches also incorporate the yellow hue into the straps. For example, the PRC200 comes with a black NATO strap decorated with a yellow stripe.

The 2016 Tour de France kicks off in Mont-Saint-Michel on July 2nd. It will cover 3,519 kilometers over 21 stages to finish on the Champs Elysées in Paris on July 24th.
