Washington Post Samsung Gear S2 watch face tracks U.S. election polling data

Washington Post face for Samsung Gear S2One thing is certain: The lead-up to the next U.S. presidential election has certainly not been boring. With months to go before we find out who will move into The White House in November, political junkies are now able to follow the latest developments right on their wrist thanks to a new watch face for the Samsung Gear S2. The Washington Post last week jumped into the wearables space by announcing its first watch face.

“What we’ve learned from being on wearable devices is that users want to glance at their watches and get information quickly, so we designed a simple display of useful election data for the best small screen experience,” said David Merrell, Senior Mobile Product Manager at The Washington Post.

Along with telling the time, the Post’s Gear S2 watch face features a numeric countdown to Election Day above the six o’clock marker and the latest polling results based on open source data analyzed by the publication. To make it easier to understand the latest numbers at a glance, the watch face features candidate matchups that automatically rotate every 10 seconds or with a simple tap.

The Washington Post Samsung Gear S2 watch face is now available as a free download from the Samsung Gear App store. You’ll be able to easily find it by searching for “Washington Post.”

It’s not clear if The Washington Post will offer similar watch faces for other smartwatches.
