Google Glass goes on sale to everyone in the U.S. for one day on April 15

Google GlassGoogle is about to open up its Google Glass Explorer Program to everyone in the U.S. but only for one day. Mark April 15 on your calendars as Google warns that “the number of spots available is limited.”

On April 15th at 9am EDT, you’ll have a limited time chance to join the Explorer Program. Sign up below for a reminder to purchase or come back on April 15th at 9am EDT.

To discover new places, sometimes we need to leave the map behind. And that’s what Glass Explorers do. They are the first to make, to tinker, to create, to shape, and to share through Glass. We’re expanding little by little, and experimenting with different ways of bringing new Explorers into the program.

To be able to purchase Glass, you will need to be a US resident with a US shipping address and over 18 years old. Glass will sell for US$1500 (plus taxes) and include either a free sunglass shade or one of its new prescription glasses frames.

First introduced in 2012, Google Glass was recently updated. Among the changes was a new earbud that connects into the existing micro-USB port rather than an audio jack.

Google apologizes to everyone outside the U.S. who is impatiently waiting to get their hands on Glass. It explains that it’s “not ready yet to bring Glass to other countries” at this point in time.

Will you take the plunge? Let us know below.
