Apple wants to trademark Podcasting

Apple has filed two new filings with the United States Patent and Trademark Office around podcasting.

The first filing seeks to trademark the term podcasting as it applies to computers, computer peripherals, hand held computers, computer terminals, personal digital assistants, electronic organizers, electronic notepads, apparatus for recording, transmission and reproduction of sounds, images, or other data; magnetic data carriers. In the second filing, Apple wants to trademark the term iPodcast as Mtelecommunications services; communication by computer, computer intercommunication; telex, telegram and telephone services; rental, hire and leasing of communications apparatus and of electronic mailboxes; electronic bulletin board services, etc.

Anyone else think that these definitions are a little too specific? Yes, I am being sarcastic.
