So the iPAQ hx4700 Windows Mobile 5.0 upgrade has been available for more than 48 hours. Not owning an hx4700, I won’t have a chance to test the upgrade process for myself. But a couple of readers have provided their own feedback (Thanks!). At least for one, the experience has been bad enough that he’s headed back to Windows Mobile 2003 SE (too many lockups requiring resets). For another, the report is more upbeat but there is definitely a performance hit associated with the upgrade.
I suspect that we will get a better idea of how the upgrade is affecting users as more and more upgrade in the next little while. Let’s hope the news is not all negative!
