So there was no video iPod at this week’s product announcement from Apple but rumours about it refuse to die. Think Secret has updated information about its imminent release. The latest word is that it will will come with a 4-inch display and a quarter-inch border. Earlier rumours about a 3.5-inch screen were due to the fact that Apple has been considering and prototyping both. The bigger screen has apparently won out.
Think Secret also thinks that Apple could announce the new device as early as late March or early April if it can work out an agreement with the movie industry to distribute full-length movies through iTunes. Apparently, at the heart of the negotiations is Apple’s desire to make the service download-to-own whereas the studios prefer a subscription model.
