North American free Skypeout calling ends

Skype

Back in May, Skype made its SkypeOut service free for North America. It covered unlimited outgoing calls to within the US and Canada. But they warned that they may not extend it past the end of 2006. Today, Skype announced that the service will no longer be free in 2007. Today, we announced Skype Unlimited. There’s bad news and good news. The bad news is that you’ll have to pay a bit. The good news is that it’s a simple one-time purchase and there are no catches. You’ll get free calls for a year for an incredible price.

If you sign up before the end of January 2007, one year of unlimited service will cost $14.95 USD. After that, the service will jump to $29.95 USD for 12 months.
