Well rested after their drawn out case with Research In Motion, NTP is returning to court. This time, they are suing Palm, asserting that Palm’s “products, services, systems and processes infringe NTP’s patents.” NTP is looking to stop Palm from using its patents as well as monetary damages. Apparently, licensing discussions took place but failed to yield mutually agreeable results.
NTP is a holding company that holds a number of wireless email patents from the late Thomas Campana. Its court case with RIM finished with a $612.5 million USD settlement in its favour.
