A closer look at the HTC Polaris

HTC Polaris

When a 2007 HTC roadmap leaked recently, most of the attention was on the HTC Omni. But there were a few other devices on that roadmap, including the HTC Polaris which should be released around the same time (October 2007). It will replace the HTC P3300 (Artemis). The roadmap does not have a model number for it.

Powered by a Qualcomm processor and Windows Mobile 6 Professional, it will pack quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-band UMTS/HSDPA, a 2.8-inch VGA display (another leaked roadmap indicates a 3.5-inch VGA display), 128MB RAM and 256MB ROM, integrated GPS/A-GPS, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, 3MP camera with autofocus, a microSD slot, and an integrated FM tuner.

It’s high time that I updated my devices here at Gadgetorama headquarters and a VGA device is high on my list. I’ll be keeping an eye out for the HTC Polaris.
