Remember that story about turning your Windows Mobile Today screen into an iPhone? If you had decided to do that little project a little later, you are too late. Apple and its lawyers the theme creator a letter asking him to remove all copyrighted materials from the site and he has done so. Nor was he the only one to receive such an honour. MoDaCo, my source for the original story, has also removed the link and screenshot following after an email.
The issue has to do with the fact that the icons and screenshot are copyrighted by Apple. Reproduction of these items requires authorization from Apple. While I cannot disagree with Apple wanting to protect its copyrights, once again, they have done so in a fashion that makes them look like schoolyard bullies.
I wonder if I’ll get a letter too…
