Apple updated its line of MacBook Pros this morning with new processors, bigger hard drives, more RAM and improved graphics. All come with base configuration that includes an Intel Core 2 Duo processor with 4MB of shared L2 cache, 2GB SDRAM and a 8x double-layer SuperDrive.
The 15-inch models now come with mercury-free LED-backlit displays. Two models are available: The 2.2GHz model also includes a 120GB hard drive and an NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 128MB SDRAM video card (US$1999 or CDN$2199). The 2.4 GHz version comes with a 160GB hard drive and an NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 256MB SDRAM video card (US$2499 or CDN$2799).
The 17-inch model comes with a 2.4GHz processor, a 160GB hard drive and the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 256MB SDRAM video card (US$2799 or CDN$3099). It also offers an optional high resolution display for an additional US$100 (CDN$120).
The new Macbook Pros are already available on the Apple Stores.
