ASUS A626 and P526 coming

ASUS A626

Two new mobile devices are coming from ASUS.

Unlike most devices being released these days, the ASUS A626 harkens back to the days when a PDA was just a PDA. Sporting a stainless steel casing, the A626 is quite thin at only 1.57cm and weighs less than 160 grams. Powered by an Intel XScale 312MHz processor and Windows Mobile 5.0, it comes with a 3.5-inch QVGA touch screen, 64MB RAM and 128MB ROM, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 (EDR), an SD slot, and front-mounted speakers.

The A626 will be available in China, France, Germany, Italy, Russia with Thailand and the US to follow.

If the lack of mobile telephony is a deal breaker, the ASUS P526 Smartphone may be a better choice. Running Windows Mobile 6 Professional, it will come with quad-band EDGE connectivity, integrated GPS, and integration with many of Microsoft’s Windows Live mobile services. Other details, including pricing, have not been revealed yet.
