E-TEN to partner with Arima for future 3G and 3.5G smartphones

During an announcement about E-TEN signing a cooperation agreement with ODM Arima Communications, E-TEN also announced that it plans to introduce four new smartphones by the end of the year. Unfortunately, no other details on those devices was revealed.

Meanwhile, the 3.5G E-TEN X800 will be the first device to be produced under the new agreement. It is now expected in the third quarter. Future E-TEN 3G and 3.5G devices will be manufactured by Arima and Quanta will continue to manufacture E-TEN 2G devices.

Aside from 3.5 connectivity, the Glofiish X800 is expected to come with Windows Mobile 6, a 400MHz Samsung processor, a VGA display, 64MB RAM and 128MB ROM, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, a 2MP auto-focus camera as well as a front-mounted VGA one for video calling and a microSD slot.
