In light of yesterday’s news, this is not a big surprise. Amp’d Mobile has sent a text message to its customers indicating that it may suspend operations as early as July 24 at 12:01am. An FAQ (‘More information’ link) has been posted on their web site to address questions around number porting, billing, Amp’d content and more.
