Latest Apple notebook rumours

Apple

Two new rumours are floating about regarding upcoming Apple notebooks.

The first suggests that Apple will add a line of 15.4-inch notebooks to its MacBook lineup in the second quarter. This new model is meant to fill the gap between the 13.3-inch MacBooks and 15.4-inch MacbBook Pros. The new MacBook is expected to be be manufactured by Quanta Computer which already makes the MacBook Pros.

AppleInsider also reports that Apple is planning to unveil a sub-notebook around the WWDC timeframe (June 11-15, 2007). Although not confirmed, this notebook would have a 12.1-inch display and could come without any optical drive to keep it as small as possible. It could also come with NAND flash memory (as part of a hybrid hard drive perhaps?) to improve both power consumption and boot times.
