HTC Shift

It may not come with Windows Mobile but Vista only but the HTC Shift remains a very exciting device. Kaz M, the same person who recently interviewed Kevin Chen, General Manager for HTC Middle East, Africa & CIS recently, has scanned and posted the official HTC product brochure.

Specs are pretty much what we have reported in the past: It will run Windows Vista Business and will come with a 800MHz Intel Stealey processor and a Qualcomm MSM7200 chipset, 1GB RAM, a 7-inch widescreen display (1024×768 resolution) that slides and tilts out to sit above the keyboard, a 40GB hard drive (a 60GB option is also available), quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and tri-Band UMTS/HSDPA, 802.11 b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, a biometric finger scanner, a VGA camera for video conferencing, and an SD card slot.

Interestingly, one section of the brochure promises 8 hours of battery life under Vista but later on, it indicates only 2 hours. Does the HTC come with the ability to do some advanced power conservation (like turning off the radios and reducing the backlight) or is there a typo in the brochure?
