British market research firm comScore is reporting that, according to search queries for the first three weeks in November, the five most popular gadgets this holiday season (in the UK, France and Germany) appear to be the Nintendo Wii, Apple iPod, Nintendo DS Lite, Sony PSP and the Apple iPhone. Other popular mobile device searches include the Nokia N95 and the Samsung U600.
In the US, the results were similar but more focused on gaming systems. More than 30 million U.S. searches were conducted for Nintendo Wii, while Apple iPod (24.8 million) and Xbox 360 (11 million) also generated heavy search activity. Interestingly, Sony PlayStation 2 generated more searches (9.7 million) than the more recently introduced PlayStation 3 (7.6 million)
All this reminds me that I need to finish my Christmas shopping…
