Weekend fun: A couple of classic arcade games

Dig Dug

Time for walk down memory lane for this edition of Weekend fun.

First up is Galaga which first appeared in arcades in the early 1980s. Board your Fighter; defend against alien fire and escape their collision-course formation attacks. Retrieve captured fighters from the boss alien’s tractor-beam to become a Dual Fighter with double the fire power. Hone your firing skills and get your Hit-Miss Ratio to 100 percent. Re-live the retro action with Galaga on your handheld!

Next up is Dig Dug where you move around by digging tunnels to clear the earth of monsters. Snare your enemies with your trusty pump and inflate them until they pop! Or squish them with falling rocks. Grab bonus veggies for extra points. Watch out for the Pookas and Fygars sneaking up behind you through the ground, and if you get caught in Fygar’s fiery breath, you’re toast, literally! Who said landscaping was easy?

Both games come with the original versions’ 250+ levels and require Windows Mobile 2002, 2003, 2003 SE or Windows Mobile 5.0.

Galaga and Dig Dug are available for $14.99 USD from our affiliate PocketGear. Trial versions are also available.
