It looks like the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 will see light of day in 2008 after all. Despite the rumours and even a posted release date of 2009 on the Sony Ericsson site, Aldo Liguori, Corporate Vice President of Global Communications and Public Relations at Sony Ericsson, has told the Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog that the X1 is on track for release in the second half of 2008.
The February 2009 date is due to the fact that Microsoft has yet to decide when it will announce the operating system that will power the X1. Sony Ericsson is waiting for this announcement to provide additional information on the X1.
