A few more details about Palm OS II

Palm

Brighthand has posted an article with a few more tidbits of information about the upcoming Palm OS II.

Devices running the Palm OS II will be aimed primarily at consumers while Windows Mobile will remain focused on the business user segment. The user interface will focus on simplifying tasks and actions that most consumers use. These include the use of various media (music, video and games for example), messaging and the use of the built-in camera. The user interface promises to be quite different from that of current Palm devices.

On the hardware side, the Centro appears to be setting the tone as to where Palm expects to go. Its success at Sprint suggests that similar low-cost devices would also be well received by consumers.

With Palm OS II only expected in 2009 now, it’s no surprise that details are still slim. Let’s hope though that more quickly becomes available.
