The Boy Genius to his hands on a pre-production Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1 and has posted both his first impressions and a gallery of pictures.
That first impression: “Wow.” He raves about the specs (this thing is packed!) and calls it one of the coolest and hippest-looking phones we’ve seen in a very long time. But there is a gripe as well and it’s not a small one. The keyboard is described as one of the worst they’ve ever seen. The issue appears to be that there is little feedback when typing.

Update: The Boy Genius has now posted his review of the XPERIA X1. Overall, the review is quite positive and the X1 is described as on par or better than any Windows Mobile device we’ve used. Except for the keyboard that provides too little tactile feedback.
