BlackBerry Kickstart: First RIM clamshell phone

It would appear that Research in Motion has one more surprise in store for us. The Boy Genius has landed pictures of a completely new phone form factor (for RIM). This isn’t fake, this isn’t a hoax. We’ve known RIM is planning to launch a flip phone within the year, and we now have the pictures to prove it!

Codenamed Kickstart, the new design is a clamshell phone featuring a SureType keyboard, both an internal and external LCD, a camera and the TrackBall navigation system. There is no word yet on other specifications.

The Kickstart could launch before the end of the year.
