What is the next move for Microsoft after Yahoo deadline passes?

The deadline imposed by Microsoft for Yahoo! to come to the bargaining table has passed. Microsoft is mulling its next move in its proposed USD$44.6 billion takeover and could make it as early as this week. A number of options are thought to be on the table.

One option on the table is to try to replace the Yahoo board of directors with its own. A second option would be to go directly to the Yahoo! shareholders with a hostile acquisition offer. Microsoft is also apparently considering simply pulling their bid and continuing to compete alone against Yahoo! and Google in the online advertising space.
