DigiTimes is reporting that Asustek is looking at adding touchscreen capabilities to at least one second generation Eee PC model. The 9-inch touch panel-equipped Eee PCs will adopt four-wire resistive touch screen technology. The new feature would only add about USD$15 to the bill of materials (although that could translate into a higher consumer price).
Asus could ship up to 5 million Eee PCs in 2008 with several hundred thousand being model(s) with a touchscreen.
