HTC expects to ship 1 million Android G1s and 3 million Diamonds in 2008

HTC has updated its shipment expectations for the T-Mobile G1. HTC originally expected to sell about 500,000 G1s but Peter Chou, HTC’s CEO, raised that estimate to one million, confirming earlier rumours. Chou also revealed that the company expects to ship 3 million HTC Diamonds, again beating original forecasts.

Chou also indicated that HTC has yet to see any decreased orders due to fears of a global recession. HTC is also looking to acquire a U.S. handset design company but did not reveal which one. Could it be One & Co, the company that helped HTC design the HTC Touch Diamond?
