Trouble continues to haunt i-mate. In the last year, i-mate has faced financial woes, personnel issues, and devices that don’t make it to the market. And the news does not seem to get better. According to the Financial Times, the company is apparently looking for a buyer after further supplier problems caused it to issue another warning about upcoming financial results. The supplier in question is believed to be Qualcomm which is dealing with a CDMA and WCDMA chipset shortage.
But according to The Register, i-mate has denied that it has put itself on the market but did confirm that it is looking at its options, given its poor performance in the past year. But no sources are identified to support this claim.
